2017 Graduation Information

The caps and gowns will be distributed on May 18 and 19 after school in the band/choir hallway. All obligations (books, fees, library fines, etc.) must be fulfilled before caps and gowns are picked up. If there is a problem with your cap or gown, contact Ms. Wert or Mrs. Humphrey in the main office.

Please remember that it is a privilege, not a right, to participate in the graduation ceremony. The Code of Conduct for Thornapple Kellogg High School will remain in effect for seniors until graduation day. Any violation may result in losing the privilege to participate in the graduation ceremony.

Practice for the graduation ceremony will be on Tuesday, May 23 at 8:00 a.m. Graduating seniors are expected to report to the big gym for instructions. Graduating seniors MUST attend practice to participate in the graduation ceremony and the Honors Program. Caps and gowns are required for practice as we will be conducting a graduation walk through of all of the TK buildings. We will have a final dress rehearsal after the graduation walk. The day will conclude at approximately 10:45. Senior parents will have refreshments in the athletic lobby immediately following practice, and they will be opening the time capsule.

Classes will be in session for underclassmen on May 23; therefore, the graduating seniors are asked to park in the athletic parking lot, enter the doors by the fitness center and go directly to the big gym. This will minimize the disruption to the regular schedule in the building.

The annual Thornapple Kellogg High School Senior Honors Program will be held in the high school auditorium on Tuesday, May 23 at 7:00 p.m.  Participation in the Honors Program is required. Caps and gowns will be worn during the program. Seniors should report to the small gym no later than 6:30 p.m.  Seniors who do not participate in the Honors Program will not be permitted to participate in the graduation ceremony.  If your son/daughter has received a scholarship, please notify Mrs. Ploeg in the counseling office by May 12, so they may be recognized at the Honors Program.

The graduation ceremony will be on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. at the large gymnasium. Graduating seniors are asked to be ready to line up in the small gym at 6:15 p.m.
