I have been at TKHS since the fall of 2014. Although I started at TK teaching Spanish, I have been teaching English since the beginning of the 201-18 school year. Apart from the classroom, I involve myself in helping to direct the fall play.
Before my time at TK, I taught a couple of years elsewhere in West Michigan, and began my teaching career with three years teaching English at International School Tegucigalpa, a bilingual school in the capital of Honduras. I earned my Bachelors degree at Calvin College and have taken some graduate courses through Marygrove College.
I live in Grand Rapids with my wife, Jana, and our cats Chiminike and Toncontín (named after a couple favorite locations of ours in Honduras). I enjoy music, movies, TV shows, books, baseball, and board games, and I can occasionally be found on stage in community theaters around Grand Rapids, scratching the itch of the acting bug.
I hope you find my classroom to be an engaging place where the English language comes alive!
