Do you like working with your hands? Do you dream of being a craftsman? Do you see the art in architecture and design? Join Grand Rapids Community College M-TEC (GRCC) and Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) for a preview of the Construction Career Jump Start program; a 17-day training program that is happening this summer. This program allows selected participants to receive training at no cost that will give you a competitive advantage in getting a job in the construction industry plus students walk away with several credentials and are guaranteed a minimum of two interviews with employers in West Michigan. They will be hosting a Construction Careers Lunch & Learn (free food) next Thursday, January 12th at TK. Looking for a job in health care?
You could be ready to enter the growing field of health care in just six months or less. Get the answers you need to make an informed decision about which career is right for you at free information sessions that will be held at GRCC. Training is offered for careers as a medical assitant or phlebotomist. Certified Nurse's Aid program will be added soon.
What is College Goal? It is an Open Lab event for parents and students to complete the FAFSA application. Financial Aid experts will be available to answer questions and offer assistance.

Summer Youth Programs at Michigan Tech
Registration is open for the 2017 Summer Youth Programs at Michigan Technological University. Students currently in grades 6-11 are invited to participate in more than 50 explorations on the MTU campus ranging from STEM to business. Students will discover and learn about various fields through hands-on laboratory, classroom, and field experiences while living in the residence halls with other crazy smart students. Competitive Scholarship Programs are available.

Baker College's Jackson Campus Earns National Recognition
The surgical technology program at Baker College's Jackson campus has earned national recognition for the fourth consecutive year for achieving a 100 percent pass rate on the certification exam on the first try. In addition, all of the graduates in 2015 and 2016 were employed in their field within 30 days of graduation.
Study Abroad this summer
Hillsdale College is offering high school students the chance to study abroad with their faculty while earning Hillsdale College credit. The two-week program includes options for travel to England, France, or Italy. Students can also opt to learn more about the history of the United States with travel to Gettysburg, Philadelphia and Washington DC.
18 year old males are required to register with Selective Service
Registration is required to stay eligible for Federal Student Loans and Grants, State Student Aid, most Federal jobs and jobs with the US Postal Service. It's easy and it's the law. Register at any US Post Office or at sss.gov.
