TKHS “Halloweek” Includes Crowning Homecoming Court

The week also features a much different feel than the traditional homecoming week. Dress up days will feature Halloween movie themes and the high school will host a TKHS Haunted Trail.

The Homecoming Court was named today and the 2020 King and Queen will be crowned Friday, Oct. 30. Members of this year’s court are: seniors, Amelya Thorne, Lila Nelson, Kaitlyn Lipscomb, Vinny Ferranti, Jackson LaJoye, and Austin Rounds; juniors are Amanda Bond and Eli Fliearman; sophomores are Tahlia Choiniere and Graysen Stahle; freshman are Alivia Raak and Kyle VanHuitsma.

Halloweek will feature a weeklong celebration the week of Oct. 26-Oct.30. Special dress up days will revolve around Halloween movie themes: Monday movie theme is “A Quiet Place” with students wearing their comfiest and quietest clothing; Tuesday highlights “The Shining” with students encouraged to take part in Twins Day and dress up like their best friend; Wednesday is “Nightmare Before Christmas” with students encouraged to wear a Halloween/Christmas mashup; Thursday is “It” with students encouraged to dress up like their favorite scary movie character; and Friday is costume day when students are encouraged to wear an appropriate Halloween costume to school.

 Other important events/dates/info to keep in mind:

  •      Wednesday, Oct. 28 – A virtual assembly will be broadcast
  •      Thursday, Oct 29th from 7-9 p.m. TKHS Haunted Trail.

Tickets for the Haunted Trail are being pre-sold beginning Oct. 21. This will help keep space between the number of people on the trail at any time to help with social distancing.

Students will be required to undergo a COVID screening which will include a temperature check before entering the haunted trail. They will also need a parent permission slip. They will be able to walk the trail in a small group with the school keeping track of group members for contract tracing purposes if needed.

Appropriate facial coverings will be required for everyone involved, and there will be no touching between Haunted Trail participants.

There are rules students must be aware of during this week:

  •      Students still have to wear their COVID facial coverings.
  •      Students cannot wear traditional, full-face type Halloween masks.
  •      Students must still follow the basic tenets of the TKHS dress code (nothing too revealing, nothing offensive).
