Students & parents can hear directly from a panel of professionals, ask career questions, and tour the employer’s workspace. Space is limited. HVACR Engineering Technology & Energy Management Summer Academy
The HVACR Summer Academy is a free, one-day on-campus event designed to increase interest in career paths for 10th-12th grade students. The day will feature hands-on activities and interaction with current Ferris HVACR students and faculty members. Health Careers Immersion Program
Kent County high school seniors interested in exploring health careers during the 2020 Winter semester are invited to apply to the Kent ISD Health Career Immersion Program. This unique semester-long, 5-hour-a-week job shadow experience gives students a behind-the-scenes look at a variety of health careers in hospital and clinic settings. Application deadline is December 1 by 5:00 PM. (Juniors might want to check this out so they can consider participating next year). Click here for full details and application
Kent Precision Metalforming Association West Michigan District recognizes a need to support students who want to pursue a career in the metalforming industry, and wishes to lend its financial support through a scholarship program. $1,000 per year for up to 2 years. The Award may be renewed in the second year based on evidence satisfactory to the District that the recipient has maintained a GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale during the school years covered by the award. GROUNDHOG SHADOW DAY UPDATE
Groundhog Shadow Day (GSD) will be on Friday, March 13, 2020. Registration will open on Monday, February 3 (GSD is on a Sunday) and the event will take place 6 weeks later. (Yes, we are trying to keep the theme – but are done fighting Mother Nature!J). Groundhog Shadow Day is a one day job shadow experience for 9-12 grade Kent County Students. More information to come!
