TKHS Mourns Loss of Assistant Principal Kevin Remenap

Kevin was returning home from a spring break trip with his family when he suddenly became ill and died April 9. Information to the TK staff was sent out immediately and the tight-knit TK community was also informed of this tragedy.

Correspondence from the TK Administration office to the community Friday relayed the news:

Dear Thornapple Kellogg Community,

It is with a heavy heart that we share with you some extremely difficult news.

Kevin Remenap, our high school assistant principal, unexpectedly became ill and passed away on his way home from a spring break trip.  We do not have further information at this time; all we can share is the sad news of his passing.

Kevin was hired at TKHS in 2018 And immediately built connections and made an impact with students. He is the brother of TK Superintendent Dan Remenap.

Kevin's unexpected death is an enormous blow to our TK staff and students in a year that has already been unbelievably difficult. We trust the TK community will continue supporting our administrators, teachers and students as we all deal with this tragedy.

Please keep the Remenap family in your thoughts and prayers.

Kevin leaves behind his wife and three children, ages 15, 13 and 10. A GoFundMe account has been established to help the family.
