Three high school students, Tahlia Choiniere, Cameron Phillips and Morgan Keller, will each have one piece of art displayed on the banners. Middle school student Briella Dykstra will also see her work on the banners. Four of her drawings were accepted for use.
The contest was open to anyone in grades 6th grade through adults. Each banner will be custom made with images on both sides.
Katherine Schmidt, Middleville DDA Director, said there are 32 displays planned including in Middleville on Main Street, St. James Circle and by the Paul Henry Thornapple Trail.
The honored artists said they are excited to see their work on the banners helping beautify the community and bringing art to the public. Schmidt said she is hopeful the banners will be in place by early April.
