The high school team advancing to the world finals is made up of members - Shelby Robinett, Whitney Ruger, Marian Gielincki, Mallory Hagemann, Colton Rabley, Billy DeWent and Travis Barton. The team is coached by Reagan Gielincki and Melinda Robinett.
TKHS also had two others teams compete at the state level taking fourth and sixth places.
Two Middle School teams finished at the state level in fourth and ninth places.
Teams from Page and Lee Elementary each finished in ninth place at the state contest.
TK Odyssey of the Mind coordinator Robin Walters said she was very proud of all the teams and the many volunteers and coaches who assisted with the state finals program at TK this weekend.
Having a team advance to the world finals this year is a tremendous accomplishment and return for the TK program whose t-shirts featured the slogan “Back to Creativity.” TK teams competed at the regional level in 2020, but the COVID shutdown canceled the state and world finals. The district program took the year off in 2021 and did not compete.
Odyssey of the Mind challenges teams to find unique and innovative ways to solve different problems using critical thinking and creativity. Teams showcase their ideas through timed skits performed before judges.
