TK FFA members showcased their hard work across various contest areas at the regional competition at Olivet High School. They competed in prepared public speaking, creed speaking, parliamentary procedure, demonstration, job interview and extemporaneous public speaking.
These contests foster leadership skills. TK FFA advisor Alyssa Hamlin said she is “immensely proud” of each of the participants and excited to see several students represent TK FFA at the regional contest Feb. 7 in Cassopolis.
Students advancing to the regional contest include Alexa Hoeksma who placed second in creed speaking; Emma Reil, who placed first in prepared public speaking; Annabelle Pennington who placed first in extemporaneous speaking; and the parliamentary procedure team of Kaedence Bowers, Zachary Heinbeck, Abigail LaJoye, Erika Wolowicz, Case Shellenbarger, Lillian DeLine, and Brittney Roodvoets who placed second.
The FFA program was brought back to TK in the 2022-23 school year after being absent from the district for more than 50 years. This is only the team’s second trip to the district contest.
