TKHS Announces Top 10 Students in Class of 2026

Devon Barnhill

Devon is the daughter of Joel and Kiley Barnhill.

Her school activities include Skills USA state regional representative 2025-26, Skills USA silver medalist in prepared speech, color guard captain, National Honor Society president, member of Teens Against Tobacco Use, and a member of the track and swim teams.

Outside of school she keeps busy working on the family farm. She enjoys reading, going out with friends and exploring nature.

She lists her greatest accomplishment as representing TKHS as a state officer for Skills USA where she also represented Michigan on the national level.

She plans to attend Western Michigan University to earn a degree in mechanical engineering.

Elise DeBoer

Elise is the daughter of Nathan and Kristy DeBoer.

She is a member of National Honor Society, Teens Against Tobacco Use, and plays tennis and volleyball in high school.

She volunteers with her church Vacation Bible School and youth group. She enjoys going to the beach, tanning, reading, playing pickleball, shopping and spending time with family and friends.

She lists her greatest accomplishment at TK as taking seven AP courses, having a 4.2268 grade point average and making the top 10 in her class.

Elise plans to attend the University of Michigan to major in political science with a pre-professional track in pre-law.

Noah Donker

Noah is the son of Jermiah and Nichole Donker.

His school activities and awards have included cross country, track, symphonic band, National Honor Society, Hope Squad, and Teens Against Tobacco Use.

Outside of school he volunteers with Peace Church Sunday School and at the Middle School cross country camp.

His hobbies include reading, watching movies, collecting geodes and other gemstones, camping, and video games.

He lists his greatest accomplishments at TK as taking strength classes despite his physical challenges, getting to speak at the NHS induction ceremony in 2026 and participating in cross country and track for four years in high school.

Noah plans to attend Calvin University to participate in their pre-law program with the future goal of becoming a lawyer. He states that he wants to continue to improve himself and give back to his community.

Alexander Frizzell

Alexander is the son of Howard and Yesenia Frizzell.

He has been involved in marching and symphonic bands, cross country, track and field, and art club during his high school years.

Outside of school he volunteered with the middle school cross country.

His hobbies include programming, game development, digital art, music composition, video editing, creating media, writing and leading teams to create projects.

He lists his greatest accomplishments at TKHS as proving himself capable of being a leader and having integrity. He also is proud of being able to work with others with different mindsets and work to solve issues and problems allowing everyone's strengths to show.

Alexander plans to join the Air National Guard in cyberwarfare for six years and attend Michigan Technological University for computer science. He dreams of becoming an independent video game developer.

McKenna Hoebeke

McKenna is the daughter of Michael and Erin Hoebeke.

Her high school activities include National Honor Society, Student Athlete Leadership Team, Student Council, Teens Against Tobacco Use, soccer, basketball and volleyball.

She enjoys being part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Her hobbies include playing pickleball, golfing, shopping, playing euchre, reading, spending time with friends and family, fishing and going to the beach.

She lists her greatest accomplishment in high school as winning a soccer district title her freshman year, being in the top five of the Class of 2026 while playing three varsity sports, acting as Student Council co-president her senior year, taking eight AP classes, being named Rotary Student of the Month and being awarded All Conference and All District honors for soccer multiple times.

She will attend Calvin University to study nursing and play soccer.

Jacob Newland

Jacob is the son of Tammy Newland.

His school activities have included National Honor Society, golf, robotics, choir, and theater. He has earned a theater award and a solo and ensemble Division 1 award.

Some of his activities and volunteer work outside of school include volunteering at Hastings Nazarene Church and at Ada Bible Church. He’s also been a TK youth golf camp volunteer, member of Tribe Bible Study,  member of the youth group at the Middleville Baptist Church, and regularly attends Ada Bible Church.

He enjoys robotics, golf, Biblical study, engineering, reading, fishing, tubing, kayaking, gold panning, metal detecting, Mario party, acting, singing and playing chess.

He notes his greatest accomplishment in high school has been being named salutatorian, passing all the AP boards he has taken, and voted and acted as robotics team captain.

Jacob plans to attend Cornerstone University for a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and then attend the University of Michigan to earn his master’s degree in aerospace.

Thomas Poll

Thomas is the son of Larry and Stacey Poll.

His high school activities include baseball, National Honor Society, Science Olympiad, and being a National Merit Scholarship semi-finalist.

He has been a four-year member of the Youth Advisory Council, serves as an audio/visual assistant at Restoration CRC and volunteers at the nursery at Restoration CRC as well.

His hobbies include math and engineering, chemistry and physics, baseball and other sports, learning about almost anything and bike riding.

He lists his greatest accomplishments as being the valedictorian for the Class of 2026, taking challenging courses and classes, doing dual enrollment with GRCC, making amazing memories in class and at baseball, making friends with staff and students, and learning vast amounts of information.

He plans to attend Michigan Technological University to attain a degree in engineering - possibly chemical engineering. He also plans to learn how to ski and snowboard, learn anything he can soak up, become a good cook, and settle down somewhere with a nice view and awesome biking/hiking trails.

Emma Reaser

Emma Reaser is the daughter of Brian and Jessica Reaser.

Her school activities include golf, National Honor Society, Student Council and marching band.

Outside of school she volunteered in the church nursery at both TVC and One Church.

Her hobbies include reading, hiking, spending time at Gun Lake with family, working out, volleyball with family and friends and trying new things.

She lists her greatest accomplishment at TK as participating in four years of golf which taught her discipline, patience and the importance of consistent effort. She also said it gave her the opportunity to form close friendships with teammates.

She will attend Northern Michigan University to study biology with a physiology concentration. She hopes to become a pediatric occupational therapist.

Lilian Rubert

Lilian is the daughter of Jason and Ella Rubert.

Her high school activities include art club and participating in the annual art festival, Hope Squad, bowling, and National Honors Society. Outside of school she has been part of the Sci-Mi Neuroscience Research Program, worked as a team member at Culver’s, and worked as a babysitter.

Additionally, she has been a volunteer at the Caledonia Food Drive Service and Cornerstone Food Drive Service. She has also assisted in painting a community art installation (the large chair in downtown Middleville), volunteering at YMCA Camp Manit-Lin, and volunteered to help clean and refurbish the Reclaimed Spirit sculpture. In addition, she has volunteered at the ICCF Christmas store, the Wyoming Park Family Shelter, as a dogsitter, at the Nutcracker boutique stand, with Versiti blood drive, and with the school blood drive, and with Christmas event clean up.

Her hobbies include knitting, crochet and tactile crafts, neuroscience research, using Duolingo for German and Mandarin languages, art, and writing.

Her honors and awards include being an AP Scholar with Distinction, National School Recognition Award, National Rural and Small-Town Recognition Award, highest honors at TKHS, National Poetry Anthology Publication, and Rotary Student of the Month.

Lilian plans to attend the University of Michigan to study neuroscience.

Franklin Wilkinson

Franklin is the son of Sam and Maggie Wilkinson.

His school activities include Student Council and serving as co-president his senior year, National Honors Society member, student section leader, Student Athlete Leadership Team,  Hope Squad, tennis, golf, and track.

Outside of school he is involved with Peer Ministry and Catholic Faith Formation at Holy Family Catholic Parish.

He enjoys playing guitar, sewing, fishing, tennis, cooking, hiking, running, lifting weights and spending time with family.

He lists his greatest achievements at TKHS as being named the Meijer Prep Athlete of the Week, earning two first place awards at the MIT Introduction to Technology state awards, being the one singles undefeated OK Gold Conference champion, taking six AP classes and being named in the Top 10 of the class.

Franklin will attend Trine University to earn a doctorate in physical therapy. He will also be playing tennis at Trine.
