Halle, the son of Annie and Robert Halle, is one of about 34,000 commended students throughout the nation who are recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended students placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2019 competition by taking the 2017 preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship qualifying test.
"The young men and women being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success," said a spokesperson for NMSC in a press release to TK Schools. "These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success."
Halle currently serves at the TKHS Student Council president, National Honor Society president, and is a member of the BPA and Environmental Action Council clubs at TKHS. He also is a member of the varsity tennis team and the TKHS ping pong club.
He hopes to further his education in the fields of computer science and business and is currently considering several college and university options.
