TK elementary students from all three elementary schools were treated to the Young People's Concerts this month. The TKHS symphonic band performed for the Page and Middle School students while the concert band performed for Lee and McFall students. This is an annual event designed to expose younger students to all the different styles and types of music and introduce them to different instruments.

Thornapple Kellogg High School senior Aaron Czarnecki is the Middleville Rotary December student of the month.

Congratulations to the December TKHS Students of the Month!

Charlie Feller, sporting a black and orange TK Trojan shirt, shook hands Friday after school with TK high school and middle school students  - many of whom he hopes to coach in football in the coming years.
Feller was hired by the district as a special education teacher and will also serve as the varsity football head coach. He begins his job at TK Jan. 23 with conditioning workouts at 6 a.m.

Several Thornapple Kellogg High School students will compete at the state BPA (Business Professionals of America) competition after placing in the top four at the Region 1 regional competition.
Nine TKHS students will advance in 13 events at the state BPA contest in Grand Rapids March 17 to 19.

TKHS students went above and beyond their normal service learning day experiences in December and this year gave back to TK staff.

Six TKHS entries in the Scholastic Art Contest earned honors. TK students made 12 submissions to the competition this year with half of them earning honors. Four students received those awards for their works.

Noah Miller has grown up watching Western Michigan University football games with his parents having season tickets. Now, Miller and Heather Price, both TKHS alumni class of 2016, will have the chance of a lifetime as members of the WMU Bronco Band to play during a prestigious bowl game.
WMU will take on Wisconsin in the Cotton Bowl at 1 p.m. Jan. 2. The game will be televised on ESPN.

Trevor Hodges is putting a little extra care and attention into every detail while making this year's rocking wooden toys in the TK woods classes. He knows exactly what these special toys mean to kids in the community.
"My little sister got one of these when we didn't really have a whole lot and I know how much she loved it," said Hodges."She was about 4."

Thornapple Kellogg High School government classes got lessons straight from the people in government this week. Middleville village officials visited the high school students to talk about their roles in local government, why local government is important and how young people can get involved.
