Thornapple Kellogg High School had a strong showing at the regional BPA competition Friday. All 10 students who competed at the BPA regional competition Friday earned placings in the top 10 of their fields and eight qualified to move on to the state BPA finals.

Thornapple Kellogg High School robotics team has received a big boost through support and a donation from Bradford White Corporation and a grant from the Wilson H. Craig Jr. fund through Barry Community Foundation.

A dozen Thornapple Kellogg High School students were named as OK Gold All Conference athletes for the fall season, and five more were named as All Conference honorable mention.

Thornapple Kellogg High School will present Jane Austen’s “Emma” in two performances Nov. 4 and 5. Each performance begins at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Tickets are $5 for students and senior citizens and $7 for adults and may be purchased in advance at tkschools.org and will also be available at the door prior to each show.

TKHS WON the Johnny's Market School Spirit contest and received a $1,500 check this week! Out of 22 schools, TK gathered 5,426 votes - almost 2,000 votes more than the nearest competitor! Principal Tony Petersen said the money will be used for student activities. Just shows what a great community we have supporting TK! Thank you TK community for all your votes! And a huge thanks to Johnny's Markets - with a location right here in Middleville - for supporting schools!

Tyler Bushman and Anna Davis were crowned the 2022 Homecoming King and Queen in front of a packed stadium. All of the homecoming court couples were introduced at halftime of the game prior to the crowning of the king and queen.

Homecoming 2022 was a tremendous show of support and pride for the schools with many families, alumni and student organizations gathered for the evening. Stein has been instrumental in leading the district’s safety and security measures as well as teaching and preparing staff and students for emergency situations.

Thanks to a $2,167 grant from the Barry Community Foundation’s Wilson H. Craig Jr. fund, Thornapple Kellogg High School students have new tools to use in their math classes. Mrs. VanOpstall was able to purchase graphing calculators to make sure each student in her class has access to one of the devices. The calculators are a valuable tool in understanding advanced math concepts.

The 2022 Homecoming Court has been named and the king and queen will be crowned during the halftime celebrations of Friday night's homecoming game. The homecoming theme this year is "Hollywood." The parade starts at 5 p.m. Friday followed by tailgate festivities, the awarding of the TK Alumni Association Distinguished Alumni Award and the game starting at 7 p.m. The Homecoming Dance will be held Saturday.

All TK Alumni and the TK community are encouraged and invited to attend the Oct. 7 Homecoming “Hollywood-themed” festivities and football game.
