Thornapple Kellogg High School was well represented at the annual statewide MITES competition in Woodworking, Architectural Design, and Engineering.

Thornapple Kellogg High School Class of 2022 will graduate May 26. The ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. in Bob White Stadium, weather permitting, and be moved into the large gymnasium if necessary.

Some lucky area veterans received cute cards of thanks and appreciation from TK students. “I have a lot of veterans in my family and I just wanted to raise awareness and help younger students understand and appreciate what they‘ve done for us. I wanted them to know who veterans are and why they are important,” said Katie Burkhead who along with Morgan Hoffman organized the project.

Seventeen TKHS senior athletes plan to continue playing a sport in college and had a special unofficial signing day to celebrate their accomplishments. The student athletes represent 10 different sports.

Thornapple Kellogg High School has announced the Top 10 academic students in the Class of 2022. These students are (in alphabetical order) Amanda Bond, Heidi Church, Evan Fabiano, Robert Holler Jr., Rachel MacKellar, Ryan MacKellar, Abigail Marcukaitis, Mieka McCormick, Matthew Middleton, and Drew Nathan.

Thornapple Kellogg High School inducted 63 new members into the Elizabeth Thurber Chapter of National Honor Society Thursday night.

What started out as a high school English class assignment, turned into so much more for two Thornapple Kellogg High School juniors.

Employers need workers. Students need jobs, opportunities and career information. Bringing students and potential future employers together results in a win-win for all. That’s just what happened at Thornapple Kellogg High School Wednesday when more than 40 local and area businesses and organizations set up a career fair talking with high school juniors and seniors.

With the music blasting students drummed their ripstix on the mat beneath their feet, then held the ripstix high above their heads hitting them together to the rhythm of the music. The exercise routine, called Pound, gave students a complete cardio workout combined with a little stretching, strengthening, a rock-n-roll flair, and a whole lot of smiles!

Just a few years ago, Whitney Hemmes was sitting in Jerry Robinson’s digital media production classes wondering if she could really pursue her dream of producing films. She came back to his class recently to assure high school students it is completely possible and that she’s living proof.
