Although none of the high school students participating in Saturday’s 9-11 commemorative event were alive on that historic day, each played an important role in remembering the events and honoring all who died.

TK students to the rescue! Well – at least in a high school physics class simulated activity.

Three teachers were honored with the Shelley Erb “Above and Beyond Award” given annually by the Thornapple Kellogg Education Association. Erb is a retired first-grade teacher whose endless energy and enthusiasm for teaching is the inspiration for the award given annually to a teacher who goes above and beyond what’s expected.

Thornapple Kellogg High School seniors didn’t just show up for their last first day of school – they showed up nearly an hour early! Several members of the Class of 2022 gathered about 6:30 a.m. in Bob White Stadium to watch the sun rise on what they all hope is a great last year at TK.

New TKHS Assistant Principal Tony Bush said he was attracted to TK because of the historical excellence of the district and the small-school feeling. “I’m ready to help make a difference in the lives of students and help mentor them to be successful.”

Five Thornapple Kellogg High School film students took six prizes at the recent Meijer Great Choices Film Festival. The student public service announcements were judged among more than 350 entries submitted from around the state.
