Being careful not to make skin contact with poison ivy vines or slip down the bank to the Thornapple River below, Thornapple Kellogg High School Student Council members helped clear unwanted vines, trees, shrubs and weeds along the Paul Henry Thornapple Trail. They piled limbs and vines and shrubs high into waiting Middleville Village dump trucks.

Drive into the Thornapple Kellogg High School parking lot after school hours and you might be surprised by the artwork filling many of the parking spaces. There’s a 3-D design of a dragon popping out of a painted hole in the asphalt, a football field adorned with a senior’s name and graduation year, words of inspiration “Throw Kindness Around Like Confetti” and a clever “If Yer Reading This – I’m Late. Woops!” saying painted on a bright yellow background.

The Thornapple Kellogg High School Science Department will be gaining some new equipment next year thanks to a grant award through the Barry Community Foundation. The Wilson H. Craig Jr. Fund awarded the district $2,632 to purchase eight new electronic balances for the science programs. Tim Penfield, co-department chair at TK, said the balances will help adequately equip the science rooms with balances and give students ample opportunities to use the scales during classroom projects.

Alex Zimmerman never dreamed that entering a high school talent show could mean so much. But that one afternoon in front of his Thornapple Kellogg High School classmates playing his electric guitar has landed him on stage in front of a national audience.

Several Thornapple Kellogg High School students entered the annual Michigan Industrial and Technology Education Society competitions at the regional level and many advanced to the state level. Students competed in categories of architecture and design, engineering and design, and woodworking

The 222 members of the TKHS Class of 2019 marched into the Bob White Stadium where many had played football or soccer or ran track. Some had marched in the band across the field. Others had been in the student cheering section at home games. There was a stiff wind blowing - but the students are all too familiar with the winds at the stadium and managed to hang onto their caps as they made their way to the graduation ceremony.

Thornapple Kellogg High School seniors honored for their outstanding achievements at the annual Senior Honors Night. Thornapple Area Enrichment Foundation awarded more than $30,000 in scholarships with the potential for up to nearly $38,000 in additional renewal awards for TK seniors. Numerous other organizations offered additional scholarship awards for graduating seniors. The following is a list of all honors and scholarships presented to TK Seniors:
