Thornapple Kellogg High School students donated 48 pints of blood at a National Honor Society blood drive this week, potentially helping save as many as 144 lives. All day, students lined up to roll up their sleeves and donate their blood to help others. Donation time slots were filled and students continued to add their names to a waiting list for the drive.

Five Thornapple Kellogg High School Business Professionals of America (BPA) students earned 13 placings at the regional contest this month at Davenport University.

The signs and advertisements for new beverages like Simplicitea, Identity Theft and other student creations cover the walls at Thornapple Kellogg High School. Their messages are bright and bold, and use lights and familiar faces to catch the attention of other students.

TKS world history students dug deep into research of ancient empires and created their own “Empire Autopsy” to better understand how these civilizations came to power and what caused their demise.

Thornapple Kellogg High School welcomed 61 new members into the Elizabeth Thurber Chapter of the National Honor Society Wednesday at a ceremony witnessed by family and friends. TKHS Principal Tony Petersen and Assistant Superintendent Craig McCarthy offered the new members praise and encouragement. “I’m proud of all of you and wish you all the best,” said Petersen noting the exceptional quality of the students seated on the stage.

Twenty-four Thornapple Kellogg High School fall athletes were honored recently for outstanding seasons in the OK Gold Conference. Fourteen athletes received All-Conference honors and 10 athletes earned the All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.

Thornapple Kellogg High School students are excited to return to the stage and present two shows of Thornton Wilder’s play, “Our Town.” Performances will be at 7 p.m., Nov. 5 and 6 in the high school auditorium.
